Nintendo News: Bayonetta, Enter the Gungeon, The Game Awards and more

The 2017 Game Awards was last night and it was great to see some amazing premiers and to see all the game developers and game designers recognized for their accomplishments.  While the cream of the crop in each category was voted on and took home awards, I want to take this moment to recognize all individuals involved in creating a game.  There are not just “game developers”, there are designers, UX engineers, QA teams, marketers, project managers, product managers and so many more that are unknown that do so much behind the scenes to even get a game to release.  We at Redonkulous gaming would love to say thank you to them all.

So what’s new today?

Bayonetta – Not just Bayonetta 1, not just Bayonetta 2, but also Bayonetta 3 was announed on the Nintendo Switch last night at The Game Awards.  Nintendo announced that in early 2018 we will see a special Bayonetta 1&2 released, and that Bayonetta 3 is in development.  This is pretty exciting news for the franchise and it is great to see Platinum Games back with Nintendo!!

Do you like to crawl?  Well, you might not need to like to crawl to be interested in Enter the Gungeon.  The game is about a band of misfits that has to fight their way through Gundead and gungeon bosses to get to the bottom to find the legendary gun that can kill the past.  You will have to dodge, roll, and flip tables while being ransacked by the rapscalian group of merchants to get this legendary item.  Enter the Gungeon has been announced that it will release on December 18th.

Breath of the Wild DLC: The Champions Ballad – The new DLC for Breath of the Wild released last night during The Game Awards.  There was so much packed into the trailer, including weapons, clothes, storyline, shrines, epic dungeons and wait for it………….Link’s own Divine Beast the “Master Cycle Zero”!!!!!  That’s right everyone, once you finish the story in the DLC you will get a motorcycle for Link to help on his adventure, and it was hinted that getting the motorcycle will unlock other secrets in the game previously inaccessible.

Lost Sphear Demo Available – Lost Sphear is the next RPG being released by Square Enix.  The game has you taking on the role of a young man that experienced a phenomenon that gives him the power that could threaten the fabric of reality.  You must awaken the power of memory to save the world.  The demo is available now, and the game is scheduled to release on January 23, 2018

OutlastRed Barrels Games has announced that Outlast will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in early 2018.  Outlast is a horror game set in a long abandoned but recently re-opened home for the mentally ill.  You play as Miles Upshur, a reporter, that breaks into the building to discover the real truth of what is going on up there.  Will you be able to survive or lose that precarious balance and never find out the truth about what is going on there?
