Redonkulous Gaming By Gamers, For Gamers

FAQ – OMG We’re Back Again!

OMG We’re Back Again! Read that without humming the Backstreet Boys. Go on… I dare ya!

If you have visited this website in the past, then you are probably thinking… ‘you guys were hacked! where did all the content go?’

If this applies to you, then the answer is: gone. We took it down and have decided to go in a different direction.

We’re Back

It’s true. We left for a bit. You may not have noticed, but we’re back. While the site will likely look and feel different, and the content published will be different, the mission is still the same. Redonkulous Gaming was created to connect people and to provide exposure to lesser known games developers.

While our intentions were good, we never really met our goals of creating the social exchange that we were looking for. Whether you followed us on Twitter, Facebook, or YouTube in the past we never really did a good job of giving you a reason to truly care.

Ultimately, I came to the realization that gamers want to know the opinion of other gamers, but that also want to share their own opinions without the risk or fear of being berrated for them.

This iteration of Redonkulous Gaming is hellbent on just that. We want to promote healthy discussion and healthy dissent. It is okay to have a different opinion. For real. No joke.

Why do you want my opinion?

It’s pretty simple… your opinion matters.

We live in a world full of information as well as mis-information. When it comes to video games it is pretty easy to have buyer’s remorse. It doesn’t matter why, but some games just leave you wanting more.

As a gamer, I have based a lot of my buying decisions on what my friends have thought about games. I have also resorted to combing through the bowels of the internet for answers.

What MMO is best? What is the next game I should pick up on the Nintendo Switch? What are some free games I can grab for my phone for my next business trip?

These are all basic questions and yet the answers are always so complicated because it comes down to personal preference. So how do I know I will enjoy a game before I buy it? This is why your opinion matters most!

So… a Discussion Board?

Yes and no. We absolutely want discussion, but we will never be Reddit, nor do we want to be. Instead we aim to a connection point for

  • Gamers
  • Developers
  • Streamers
  • Content Creators

We want to know what games you love to play. We want to know what games you love to watch your favorite streamer play. We want streamers and content creators to connect better with developers to bring new games to light. And we absolutely want gamers to influence developers to create awesome games!

But you just relaunched your site, how will it all work?

We want to encourage the community to grow with us. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

The biggest difference is that we will not just be posting RG content exclusively. In order to accomplish our mission and connect gamers, developers, streamers, and content creators we needed to branch out beyond our own content. This means that you will be able to come to this site and likely come away with value.

Maybe you’ll discover a new game or studio you didn’t know existed. Perhaps this means uncovering your new favorite YouTuber or streamer. Or maybe you finally figured out what is missing in your MMO experience.

Regardless of what you are looking for, we want to be able to help with those connections and feature articles, videos, games, and other content that is relevant to your gaming experience.

How can I be featured on your site?

Whether you are a gamer, developer, streamer, and/or content creator all you have to do is email us at redonkulousgaming1@gmail.com to be featured on the site. You can also fill out the contact form and we will get back to you in short order.

There is a vetting process based on what type of content you want published, but as long as it is relevant and respectful we will post the content to our site. We accept articles, videos, and feature streamers and content creators. We are also willing to share links to your website or channel.

I like the cut of your jib, how can I help?

Be social. Your experience and your opinions matter. The more people contribute to the discussion the better it will be for everyone.

While being social, please be respectful. Toxicity will not be tolerated on this site. Be respectful to others and aim to be helpful and informative.

But, I really, REALLY like the cut of your jib.

For our current and future superfans, we have created a Patreon. Patreon will only be used to cover the cost of running the website and maintaining domain fees. Reward tiers will come in time, but for now it will help us keep the lights on.

If you hate this idea, that’s okay. We default back to our original ask of: Be social and respectful while using our site and engage other users frequently!
