Nintendo Switch News and Updates: December 6, 2017

Pokemon GO – Rumors were abounding about new Pokemons being released during the holiday season in 2017.  However, Niantic has officially announced that Pokemon from the Hoenn Region will be coming out later this week.  Niantic has also added dynamic weather affects to the game.  So you will need to keep an eye out on the weather, as this can affect what Pokemon appear as well as provide increased strength to Pokemon that have synergy to those weather affects. Darkest Dungeon – Red Hook Studios just teased that Darkest Dungeon would be releasing in 2018 on the Nintendo Switch.  Red Hook Studios have stated that the release will include all currently available DLC.  The team is working on getting a build for the Nintendo Certification process and expect an early 2018 release date [Darkest Dungeon Blog Post]

Max: the Curse of Brotherhood – The critically acclaimed game has you following Max as he tries to rescue his little brother after wishing that his brother would disappear.  Max is armed with a magic marker that has the ability to bend the elements and create magic objects.  Stage Clear and Flashbulb Games have stated that new touch based controls created for the Switch will allow players to draw directly on the screen.  The game will release on the Nintendo eShop on December 21 for $14.99 USD.

Hammerwatch – A hack and slash action adventure, set in a fantasy pixel art environment. Play solo or co-op in this adventure from bottom to top of Castle Hammerwatch. Kill hordes of enemies with varied looks and features through four unique environments with traps, hidden secrets and puzzles.  Blitworks and Crackshell will be porting this game and releasing it this month for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, XBoxOne.  Make sure to check back here for our review of Hammerwatch. Bridge Constructor Portal – The internet has been abound with click bait today about Portal 3.  In truth HeadUp games, the creator of Bridge Constructor, is creating a Portal spin off with GLaDOS and Apeture labs would create if the worlds of Portal and Bridge Constructor collided.  Check out the newst trailer released today December 6, 2017. Starflux Rivals – Rock Pocket has confirmed that they will be bringing this multiplayer on-line brawler to the Nintendo Switch.  The game has destructible terrain, gravity effects and six playable characters, each battle should be a hot mess with tons of challenges to keep you entertained.
